Teri Gender Bender — Mexican American singer, songwriter and Producer Teri Gender Bender – born Teresa Suárez Cosío — is ready to show you another side of her eccentric artistry with a album called TGB.TGB” marks Teri’s first time handling the production side of her music, making it her most hands-on project yet.

Filled with electronic, psychedelic, and experimental pop-rock, TGB” is an empathetic auditory vessel Teri created to understand her loved ones on a personal level. Inspired by her close friends’ woes, the singer-songwriter shows sincerity and kindness by purging their most negative feelings and transforming them into sonic masterpieces for them to reflect and heal with. Primarily composed in 2022, the project channels a different side of Teri’s exuberant mind: a profound and carefully self-curated soundscape influenced by the likes of Pink Floyd and Kraftwerk. She also credits mainstream pop stars like Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish as influences. Beyond her 12 original pieces, she covers English artist Jeanette’s classic Spanish hit “Por Qué Te Vas?” — showing how versatile her mind works.

Although Teri is primarily known as the Mexican garage punk band Le Butcherettes’ (2007) charismatic frontwoman, she’s continuously pushing her sounds, making her musical repertoire rich across both limitless genres and themes. After the release of the band’s last album bi/MENTAL (2019), Teri pivoted to work as a soloist when the global pandemic hit in 2020. She continued her musical route as a soloist, proving she has more to offer as not only a captivating frontwoman, but also as a producer, and songwriter. Previous solo EPs include her first Cuando Yo Era Una Niña EP (2022); and her latest Catspeak EP (2023) and Outsiders EP (2023).

Other than Le Butcherettes, Teri has also been a part of more projects like Bosnian Rainbows (2012), and Crystal Fairy (2016). Both of these side quests were with longtime collaborator Omar Rodríguez-López (The Mars Volta, At the Drive-In) and American rock band Melvin’s members Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover were also part of Crystal Fairy. Beyond these collaborators, Teri has also worked with Iggy Pop, Alice Bag, and Jello Biafra, to name a few artists.

“TGB” will be out in June 2025 and the album’s lead single “SANAR” will be out on February 14.
