Imagine if you will, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Peaches have a baby in the back of a disco and Lady Gaga stole that baby and raised it as her own. Introducing Miss Poppy Jean Crawford. Born and raised in Southern California, Crawford has been performing live since she was 15. At 19, she was signed by five-time Grammy winning producer Danger Mouse (Black Keys/Gnarls Barkley) to his label 30th Century Records.

Her debut EP “JeanJeanie” was released in late 2019 and shows not only off her raw visceral guitar style punctuated with powerful vocals and haunting melodies her vocals that can only be described as beauty alongside chaos.

Having toured with Starcrawler and The Black Lips in 2020, her tour life was abruptly cancelled due to the pandemic, only a couple of days before her debut SXSW appearance.

With the support Brian Burton (Danger Mouse), Crawford returns this year with a new EP recorded in London in early 2022 with her dream producer, James Dring (Blur, Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey), who is the perfect partner for Crawford’s new musical ideas. With their first 6 songs completed, they show a different side of Crawford as a performer and writer taking a note pop approach to her style. “The new songs are very inspired by early 00’s pop Lily Allen, Gorillaz, Lana Del Rey and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.”
