Ponderosa Grove is a band born out of the artistic tapestry of Prescott, Arizona. Whether they are performing as an acoustic trio featuring Candace Devine, Drew Hall, and Joshua Taylor or in their 6-piece setup, all the way up to a 9-piece band with a horn section. This collective brings a warm and inviting sound that has been compared to a contemporary Fleetwood Mac or a modern day Eagles.

The band features a group of musicians that bring a wealth of creativity and diverse influences to its lineup. At its core are Devine, Hall, and Taylor, who first dreamed of a way to unify the musical community in Prescott. A songwriter on the Grammy-nominated Wild Heart by Mindi Abair, lead vocalist Devine has opened for and worked with artists Ringo Starr, Christina Aguilera, Adam Lambert, Michelle Branch, Styx, and more, as well as displayed her multi vocal range for television and feature films. Through her company Further West, she spends time creating songwriter labs to encourage musicians to co-create and support other musicians. She also hosts The Creative Convergence, a podcast filmed live from Raven Sound Studio, a music documentary series on YouTube. Candace is the President and founder of the Pure Imagination Music Festival who featured Dawes, Talib Kweli and many more in its inaugural year.

Lead guitarist and vocalist Hall has worked on a variety of successful projects including THiS Trio, the Latin/Flamenco inspired band Summa Totius, Northern Arizona staple The Cheektones, Big Daddy D and The Dynamites (which he co-founded), as well as worked with R&B sax pioneer Joe Houston, Ed Carter (The Beach Boys), and Eddie Watkins Jr. (Temptations, Marvin Gaye).

Singer-songwriter/guitarist Taylor showcased his melodic guitar playing, buttery voice, adept vocal arrangements, and highly evocative confessional songwriting in his debut album, “About Time”. In 2015 he co-founded the indie-soul rock band King Taylor Projects with his wife, Sandi King. He is about to release his sophomore solo album.

Practically, a Prescott native (having moved there when he was two), multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Cosimo “Cozzy” Bohrman is frequently found behind a bass guitar. In addition to Ponderosa Grove, he plays with The Cheektones, Galactagogues and The Faultlines. He has performed/recorded with Sugar and The Mint, Nick Canuel, Stephy Leigh Griffin, Johan Glidden, Aster Way, and Glory Arellano.

Drummer and percussionist, Gregory “Gigi” Gonaway is a music veteran. He began playing drums since he was ten and has been making music since 1970s. Gigi has played drums on recordings with artists such as Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, George Benson, Natalie Cole, and Steve Winwood, among others. He has toured extensively with Mariah Carey and Clarence Clemons. His outgoing personality, his skill and his dedication to the art of drumming, has made Gigi one of the top of his league.

Born and raised in Long Beach, California, pianist Zach Dominguez, has lived in Prescott for 10 years. Dominguez is influenced by a wide range of genres, including funk, soul, and jazz.

In 2021, Ponderosa Grove released their genre-blurring debut album, aptly titled “The Debut”. Followed with the release of a new single in March 2022 called, “Changin’” and their 2nd album release rolling out in early Fall of 2022. They have been touring nationwide, opening for the well-loved Tedeschi Trucks Band, The Talbott Brothers, and a showstopping performance at the Pure Imagination Festival. They are winning audiences everywhere. Stay tuned for much more to come from this hard-working band of artists!
