Christopher Lunsford is an independent singer-songwriter from Farmville, Virginia. His music was inspired by and dedicated to his grandfather, Oliver Anthony, who grew up tobacco farming in the early 1930s in Washington County, Virginia.

He recorded “Rich Men North of Richmond” in the woods with Radiowv and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This allowed him to quit his full-time job in the construction industry and pursue music as a career.

In 2025, he released “Scornful Woman,” which reached #1 on the iTunes chart.

He has toured both in the U.S. and internationally, with his very first paid show at Morris Farm Market in North Carolina bringing in 12,000 people. He’s appeared on long-form interviews with Joe Rogan and Jordan Peterson, and was the first musician to ever perform at Joe Rogan’s comedy club, The Mothership.

The Oliver Anthony Music band includes Joey Davis, Peter Wellman, and Noel Burton, all from Virginia, along with Tennessee fiddler Billy Contreras.

Christopher still remains fully independent and self-operates without a manager, label, or sponsors while farming full-time in Virginia.
