With a goal to create “collective effervescence” through art, DC born and raised singer/songwriter MALINDA comes to the table with a wide variety of influences that have shaped her into the artist she is today. Combining Irish traditional music, musical theatre, and jazz, she has happily settled into her unique corner of the folk/pop/indie world with her ethereal tone and empowered belt.

During the pandemic, MALINDA circled back to her social media roots, and gained notoriety in the #ShantyTok craze, with her cover of Drunken Sailor taking off in 2021. After rediscovering her passion for her Irish/folk roots, EP’s The Folks I Love (2021) and Sea To Sky (2022) both spent time at #1 on the iTunes World Music charts. After relocating to NYC in 2019, MALINDA found new communities, and more genre defying collaborations, she began drafting what would become her full length debut album, It’s All True (2023). The 10 track LP is a brutally honest and deeply personal album that shares MALINDA’s story of falling apart and putting herself back together, while the world around her did the same. With album in tow, MALINDA also then wrote, produced, directed and starred in the accompanying visual album which made a theatrical debut with Cinemark, headlined her first full US tour, and made her debut festival appearances.

What’s next for MALINDA? “I’m on a mission to infiltrate every rock club in America with an Irish flute.” And she plans to do just that, creating spaces for audiences to sing in harmony together, weaving together the ancient and the brand new.
