TALENT:  Director

Aneesha Kudtarkar is a New York-based theatre director. She likes plays that start out normal and then get weird. As a trained Indian Classical dancer, she creates compositionally driven pieces of theatre that centralize historically excluded voices. Recent directorial projects include A Thousand Maids (Two River Theater), Water by the Spoonful (Juilliard), Queen (National Asian American Theatre Company, Longhwarf Theatre), The Cherry Orchard (The New School), The Who and The What (TheaterWorks Hartford), Men on Boats (Southern Methodist University), [Veil Widow Conspiracy] (National Asian American Theatre Company), LOCUSTSTrouble in Mind (Yale School of Drama), The Purple Flower (Yale Cabaret). Aneesha has also developed new works with Gingold Theatrical Group, Clubbed Thumb, and the Hunter College MFA Playwrighting Program.  Aneesha was a Drama League Director’s Project Fellow in 2015, and the recipient of the 2019 Kauffman Memorial Prize at Yale. She is a graduate of the Yale School of Drama.
